Short Bio

Sercan Akyalcin, DDS, MS, PhD, a globally recognized orthodontist, is the Head of Orthodontics at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM). Dr. Akyalcin completed his specialty training in orthodontics at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, where he also worked as a faculty member and researcher. Before his appointment at Harvard, he held several key academic leadership positions, including Professor and Director of Orthodontics at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine from 2016 to 2022.
